Out of the Darkness Ministries I am a three-time suicide Survivor. I made my first attempt at the age of 13. I loved my family and my family loved me. There was not
one thing they could have done differently to stop me. I was not "crying out for help" or "making a plea for attention," I was in so much pain and had such sadness and sense of loneliness that I desperately wanted out of my life. I no longer wanted to hurt and I never even considered my family. I know it is hard to understand how someone could take their own life and why you would want to at such a young age. It cannot be explained unless you have been there before. You are not yourself at that point in your life and you are thinking that you are being selfish, you are thinking that ending your life is the one thing that will finally bring you peace. You are not thinking of anything or anyone else, but the pain that you feel although others will say you have everything to live for and nothing is so bad you would want to kill yourself, unless someone lives in your skin and feels your inner feelings, they have no idea the pain you feel and the struggle to pretend everything is okay for just one more day. I never left a note and was always disappointed to wake up and realize I was still here and I was still me. It took me 33 years to want to live. I thank my God, my husband, and my two beautiful boys for giving me the will and a reason to live.
