Centre For Suicide Research  The Centre is based in the University of Oxford Department of Psychiatry. Professor Keith Hawton is its Director. The work of the research group is focused on investigation of the causes, treatment and prevention of suicidal behaviour.

National Institute of Mental Health For England (NIMHE)  NIMHE aims to improve the quality of life for people of all ages who experience mental distress. Working beyond the NHS they help all those involved in mental health to implement change, providing a gateway to learning and development.


Ireland

The Irish Association of Suicidology  The Irish Association of Suicidology had its inaugural meeting in 1996. Since then it has had seven annual meetings each dealing with various aspects of suicide and suicidal behaviour in a general way.  They recognise the complexity of the issues involved in suicide prevention. Simplistic responses are to be avoided.

Fierce Goodbye: Fierce Goodbye will be airing on Hallmark Channel on Sunday, August 22 at noon (ET/PT). family survivors of suicide share personal stories of their trauma. Mental health experts talk about the stigma of mental illness and suicide, and theologians and biblical scholars spell out traditional views on what happens to the "soul" after suicide and how some views are changing in light of new knowledge about mental illness. Suicide Prevention Australia  Suicide Prevention Australia is a non-profit, non-government organisation working as a public health advocate in suicide prevention. SPA is the only national umbrella body active in suicide prevention throughout Australia. They are also the only non-government member organisation of suicidologists in Australia. SPA is a broad-based organisation, which brings together diverse community interests across disciplines, youth and mental health sectors and the public affected by suicide.

Australian Institute of Family Studies  Developed by the Australian Institute of Family Studies, this resource is to help those working to prevent suicide.

Here for Life   This is a non-profit organisation that is committed to reducing youth suicide in Australia.

Youth Suicide and Self-Injury In Australia  This supplement presents some descriptive data on youth suicide in Australia. It is largely based on Australian deaths data up to 1995, though some sections are also based on Australian hospital morbidity data and on international mortality data.
